If you need to submit a task request for our IT Staff, please use the dotproject tool here. The authorized web or technology liason for your department has access to this tool. Please contact them to coordinate your requests. To create a task in dotproject: - From the Projects page, look at the list of Project Names (second column) and click on the appropriate Project name.
- At the top right, click on New Task.
- Enter a meaningful Task Name, as well as a Description and Web Address.
- Click on the Human Resources tab (only visible while editing the task) and assign the task to the appropriate person. You can optionally remove your name from the Assigned To window. This step is required for the IT person to receive an email notification of the request.
- Click on the Dates tab and assign an end date.
- Click Save
- If you need to associate a file with the task, the task must be saved first. In View Task mode, not Edit Task mode, you will see a different set of tabs at the bottom. Click on the Files tab and click the link Attach a file. Browse and upload the file to associate it with the task. You should make mention in the Description of the task that a file is attached.
- When the task is completed, progress will be set to 100% and you will receive an email that the task is completed.
