Diana Woodhouse oversees web development for the Division of Student Affairs. This includes maintenance of legacy department websites, graphics design, migration of department websites to Content Management Systems (CMS), content management training and guidance, development of custom applications, and the propagation and support of student organization websites.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with departments to meet requirements for online presence
  • Assisting with the interpretation of department identities and the customization of graphics for websites
  • Providing expertise for website creation with focus on design, organization, usability, and maintenance
  • Consulting and technical support for department content providers
  • Working with Mambo and Joomla CMS platforms, as well as components, modules, and mambots for departmental and student organization websites
  • Providing support for Student Life
  • Applying knowledge of programming languages for custom tool automation and application interfaces. Languages include Unix shell scripts, PHP, Java, Pearl, XML, Javascript and HTML
  • Designing database architectures and performing database administration and server side queries. Database platforms include MySQL, SQL Server and Oracle.
  • Applying general knowledge of web servers and technologies used in web development such as Apache, Tomcat, IIS, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop
  • Working in heterogeneous environments including PCs, Macs and Unix systems
  • Assuring website functionality across browsers
  • Offering solutions to other groups on campus, as needed
  • Staying abreast of the latest information technologies
